  1. Blog about easter customs
    Dear Joshua!
I hope that this Blog is interesting for you!
My name is Fabian Pezzei. I´m a student at the Herz-Jesu-Institut in Mßhlbach this is in South Tyrol.
In this Blog I will tell you about Easter customs in my Family and village.
On Palm Sunday we decorate a tree and then at the service we bringthe palm tree to church. I like this custom because you can be creative.

On the Moundy Thursday in the afternoon I dyed eggs with my brother and my mother. Afterwards I went alone to my grandmother, where I also decorated eggs. This is my favourite custom. Furthermore I went to the service.

On Good Friday we didn´t eat chocolate or other sweet things. At 15:00 o´clock we went tot he service.

On holy Saturday at 17:00 o´clock we went with a basket to a service. My brother and I got presents from godfather.

In the morning of Easter Sunday we looked for Easter eggs. After, we wentto church Than there was the morning drink where we ate, drunk and played knocking eggs. Later on we went home and ate the things that weh ad in the basket. Finally we went to my grandmother´s house.

These are the most interesting customs. How do you celebrate Easter? What is your favourite easter custom?

    Please write back soon

    Fabian

    • I like that in your Easter custom you can be creative. For my Easter, I traveled with my family. I went to Sacramento, California for Easter. I also watch a movie with my whole family. That’s how I celebrate easter. My favorite Easter custom is spending time with my family.

      Dear, Joshua

  2. Dear Emily,
the project with the blog about Easter customs is very interesting.

My name is Laura Oberhofer and I’m a student at the HJI a middle school in Mühlbach.

Now I want to tell you about a lot of Easter customs in my family.

First I want to tell you what we do on Maundy Thursday. Together with my family we dye eggs with colors, onion and flowers, it’s funny, because every egg is different.

On Good Friday we fasted. We did not eat meat and chocolate.

On Easter Sunday my mother prepared an Easter basket with eggs, cheese, bread, ham, bacon and wine. My whole family went to church and then the priest consecrated the food in the basket. We ate the blessed food for lunch. After church the little children searched the eggs in the garden, then we all played the egg-knocking game.

My favourite day is Easter Monday. Last Easter Monday we went to my grandma and there I met all my cousins, aunts and uncles. I got the present from my godmother and I played with my cousins the egg-knocking game. From my grandma I got a chocolate Easter bunny.

Do you have the same Easter habits? Or what do you do on Easter?

I hope you write back soon!
    Love
    Laura

    • Dear Laura,
I do very similar things to what you do for Easter. Such as, the egg knocking game, dying eggs, and getting chocolate bunnies.

For Easter in my family the easter bunny comes and he hides eggs overnight so that when we wake up on Easter Sunday there will be eggs scattered and hidden in our backyard and our front yard.

The easter bunny also leaves three baskets, one for my youngest sister, one for my middle sister, and one for me , filled with candy and chocolates.

In my family it’s not always about the easter bunny, the candy, the chocolates, or dying eggs. For us it is very important to celebrate Jesus dying on the cross and forgiving our sins.

For our Easter lunch we have chicken, baked potato’s, potato chips, and we also have cesar salads, but before we eat we always pray. We usually go to my grandparents house in Monterey in California. We always go to the beach after our eater lunch.

I absolutely LOVE Easter! In South Tyrol do you guys hide eggs as well? I’m sorry I haven’t written to you in a long time. I’ll try to write more

      Love,
      Emily

  3. Dear Bella,

I like Eastertimes because in the Easter holidays, my family do some interesting things about Easter. I tell you some funny customs about Easter in South Tyrol/Italy.
One of my favourite customs ist he egg-knocking game. This makes a lot of fun and at the end you eat the egg with „Maggie“ but I don´t like this. But with salt it is so good, I lobe this.In the egg-knocking game you need a partner. The partner or you, is not important who hits the egg on the other egg. And the egg that it is broken loses the game.
A second very funny game ist he egg-hunting game. My little brother loves this because he thinks the Easterbunny hunts the eggs in our garden.

These are my favourite customs. What are your favourite customs in your village or in your town? I heard that in the USA the people do the egg-rolling game. Why are the doing this? Do you know that? Do you do this?
Take care and write back soon
    Elisa

    • Dear Elisa,
It’s nice to here a reply from you. I apologize for replying *very* late, I’ve been caught up in school. But anyways, here are my responses to your questions on how my family and I celebrate Easter.
A lot of my family members live in Texas, so usually for Easter we go down there. We celebrate Easter at my aunt or tia’s *that’s Spanish for aunt* house. We eat tacos, beans, rice, chicken, etc. Afterwards, my cousins and I try to get a quick glimpse of where my older cousins hid the eggs in the backyard. We always get chased afterwards and yelled at for looking. After we finished the Easter Egg Hunt, we have a cascarones fight. Cascarones are dyed eggs that have confetti inside that you smash on people’s heads. It’s a messy game, but it’s my favorite. The bad thing about it though is that all my family is taller than me because I’m the youngest in the family. But still, I have fun smashing cascarones on my family’s heads.
Though my family and I have a lot of customs, I have never played egg-rolling. I have heard my friends mention the game to me before, but I do not know how to play it.
That’s pretty much what my family and I celebrate. What are other customs that you and your family celebrate that isn’t Easter? What’s your favorite holiday to celebrate? Nice job on the letter by the way, I appreciated that you explained to me how to play your family’s custom.

      Sincerely,
      Bella

      • Dear Elisa,
Thank you for writing to us. I appreciate that you have taken the time to do this.

Over easter I didn’t do much. I was in the car the whole time. The weekend of Easter I was at six flags which is an amusement park.

Egg-knocking sounds like very much fun. I hope that America adopts that game to.

To answer your questions I don’t know what egg-rolling is, but I do however do egg-toss. We each have a partner and start close. We throw a uncooked egg back and forth. We get farther and farther and last one who hasn’t dropped the egg wins. I have no idea on what egg-rolling is either.

Some questions of mine are have you ever been to Sicily, Italy, ever been in America, and do you have fast food restaurants like Panda Express , McDonald’s, or Taco Bell.

      • Dear Elisa,

      • Dear Bella,
        Thank you from your letter!
Your Easter customs are very interesting. I also do a lot of things with my Family. Another custom is that we have a basket and we are blessing the basket with the food to the church.

My favorite holidays to celebrate are the summer holidays because there is no school and it´s hot.
In the summer holidays there is the herzjesu fire. This is so beautiful and interesting. The people are making a fire on the mountain. What´s your favorite holiday to celebrate?
And are in this holidays some special things? Take time to read my letter and give me a answer.
        Sincerely, Elisa

  4. Dear Kaito,

In this letter I`m going to tell you about Easter customs in South Tyrol.

My name is Leo Tauber and I live in South Tyrol. I am a student at the HJI in MĂźhlbach.
MĂźhlbach is a little beautiful village between Vintel and Schabs. I am 13 years old and I love football!

So let`s start with some Easter customs of South Tyrol. The first Easter custom is the egg knocking game. This game is played every year after the service of the Easter Sunday. This custom is a game; in this game you have to knock your hardboiled egg with another hardboiled egg. The egg who gets destroyed first is not the winner, the winner is the not destroyed egg.

Another custom on Easter is the dying of eggs on Good Friday. The last custom is the egg hunt, parents of little kids hide eggs and little chocolates in the grass and after the kids have to search the surprises of “the Easter bunny”.

These are the most popular Easter customs of South Tyrol, I hope you can understand them, but what is about your Easter customs? Do you celebrate Easter? Do you know who is the Easter bunny? What is your favourite Easter custom?
    Best wishes
    Leo Tauber

    • Dear Leo

Wow that sounds amazing, my easter is kinda the same. During easter the kids play games while the adults hide the eggs. When the asults are done hiding the eggs the kids come out and get them. There is also a chance you find the golden egg which has money in it.

I want to hear from you later

      Love, Kaito

      • Dear Kaito,

Thank you very much for your letter.

The custom with the golden egg is very interesting and cool.
In the summer I`m going to travel to Malta and Irland and I`m going to swimm every day.

I hope to hear from you soon!

        Love LEO

  5. Dear Emily,
I love to write you back because i love to write a blog, today I will write about my Easter holidays and about habits in Rodeneck.

First I´ll tell you that I love to have holidays. In my Easter holidays, I like to dye Easter eggs because then i can be creative. I dye the Easter eggs with my grandmother every year on Maundy Thurstay.

Second i´ll tell you about Easter Sunday. On Easter Sunday I search the Easter eggs with my cousins, they are twins. I love to get presents from my family. My aunt gave me a book, a T-Shirt ans trousers.

Finally I want to tell you about habits in Rodeneck. On easter Sunday all people go tot he church and we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. After the parade we go tot he egg-knocking game in our village. In Rodeneck all people pray to Jesus because he is holy.

And now I have some questions for you!
    • Do you learn anything about the Easter time?
    • When do you go to the church?
    • Do you also play the egg-knocking game?

Take care and write back soon

    Melanie

    • Dear Melanie,

I absolutely love Easter! For me in Hollister the easter bunny hides eggs in our backyard and he leaves baskets in our living room filled with candy, little gifts, and chocolates.

It’s not always about the easter bunny, the chocolates, the candies, and the little gifts. We make sure to learn more about Jesus and we celebrate him for dying on the cross for us. My family and I go to church as much as we can but, we always go to church on Easter Sunday.

I love th tradition of playing the egg knocking game! Once I got a hard boiled egg and with it, I beat twenty-four other hard boiled eggs with it! Without a single crack on my egg! After I beat all those eggs the loser has to eat their egg. Sometimes we only play this game because my family usually brings too many hard boiled eggs!

Do you and your family eat the eggs when your done?

      Love,
      Emily

      • Dear Emily,

Thank you very much for your letter! It was nice to heare from you!

We also love Easter, every year we go to the egg hunt.

After the egg knocking game we eat all the easter eggs with our familys.

Do you have WhatsApp? Please send us your emailadress!

We hope you write back soon!

        Love
Melanie Putzer; Laura Oberhofer and Laura Reichegger

  6. Dear Penfriend,
Today I`ll answer your letter. I`ll tell you about my Easter customs. So let me tell you about two Easter customs!

The first is the egg-knocking game. You have to play it with a partner. You hit the eggs together. I always play this game on Easter Sunday. Every year there is also an unboiled egg and who takes this is the loser.

The second custom is the egg hunt. Mum, the“Ester bunny“ hides the eggs everywhere. Then we search them. There is also my cousin so we look for them together.

Now I`ll tell you about my Easter Sunday. Every year I get up and go to church. This year it was a nice day. At 11.00 o`clock my cousin came to us. My mum and my dad drove to my grandmum. I stayed at home with my cousin. We played the whole day. We jumped trampolin, played soccer and so on. Then it was afternoon and the egg hunt began. My cousin found one and so did I. We ate them. Then the day ended. I have a question. What Easter customs do you have?
    Please write back!

    -Jakob

    • I think it’s very cool that you play the egg knocking game! We also do a Easter egg hunt! We also go to church every Easter morning. Our Easter egg customs are eating a really big dinner and spending time with our family. Our family plays card games and other fun games together. Of course, this is after we go to church! Then we spend time with my cousins, aunts, and uncles!
      -Avery

    • I find the egg knocking game really interesting! I would like to try it sometime for myself! The second game the Easter egg hunt I play on Easter too! Sometimes I get a lot of eggs, but other times I don’t. Usually around the afternoon I go to church.

  7. Dear Erica

My name is Anna Kobler. I am a student at the school Herz Jesu Institut. Today I will describe three typical Easter habits.

One typical Easter habit ist the egg-knocking game. On the Easter Sunday after the service, we knoch eggs. That is funny and makes me happy. You knock Eggs on an other egg and the last egg ist he winner. I hope you understand the tradition/ rules oft he game.

A second tradition ist the Easter music. In the church the church coir sings and after the service we play the folk music. Two other people and I play the saxophone. This year was my first concert.

But my favourite tradition ist the egg-hunt. I know that you also have this tradition in america. It is a little bit like a contest to find the most eggs. At the last egg hunt I hund five eggs.

The traditions are important for the small village beucause MĂźhlbach is old. Eastern ist the fest of Jesus. On Easter Monday my cousins and my grandma come to vist us.Then I get presents.

I hope the letter was interesting. Pleas tell me something about your Easter holidays. Write back soon.

    Your pen friend
    ANNA!

    • Dear Anna,
I’m writing you because my pen-pal hasn’t written me a single time, so I decided to reply to your letter. My name is Kailyn Kaiser, I’m eleven years old, and I’m in sixth grade. I love reading and writing, I also like riding my bike on steep hills. I think the egg-knocking game sounded interesting. Maybe someday I will try it. Some of my Easter traditions are dying eggs with my brother Kyle and some of our friends. Also on Easter morning my brother and I try to find our eater baskets, which are normally filled with goodies and treats, and race to find as many eggs as we can. We try to find plastic eggs that have candy inside them and we also find the eggs we died the night before. I know you aren’t my pen-pal but it would still be nice if you replied.

      From, Kailyn

    • Hi Anna, I know I’m not your pen pal but my pen pal didn’t write to me. My name is Juliana Alvarez and I got Monte Vista Christian. Your traditions are very interesting and sound fun! Here in America we do not do an egg-knocking game, but it sounds really fun! We also have Easter music. We go to Sunday service and we listen to the choir sing. We do not listen to the same folk music but we listen to music about God. My favorite tradition is also the Easter egg hunt! I got 18 eggs at the end of the game! We also had brunch with my fathers side of our family. It was super fun!
What is your favorite kind of waster candy?
      Mine is chocolate covered marshmallows.

  8. Dear Christina

I’m very delighted about this blog and it’s also a good idea!

My name is Leonie Balzarek. I’m a student at the Herz-Jesu-Institut in Mühlbach/ South Tyrol/ Italy
Now let me tell you something about my Easter customs.

One of my favorite customs is the egg-knocking game. This game is so funny. There are two persons and both have one hard boiled egg. They knock the eggs together and the person with the broken egg loses the game.

An other very cool custom is the egg-hunt. The „Easter Bunny“ comes and hides Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies and other sweets in the garden and then the kids can search the eggs.

In my family, it’s also a tradition to go to the service on Palm Sunday. For this little parade my grandma makes palm brushes for us.

On Maundy Thursday my family and I also dye eggs and in the evening we go to the service.

These are my favorite Easter customs and traditions. I hope they’re interesting for you. If something is not clear, please write back to me and ask me!

How do you celebrate Easter? Do you have any special customs? Do you play the egg-rolling game?
    Please write back soon
    Leonie

    • Dear Leonie,

This is a better way to respond to you! But back to the subject. On Easter my whole family comes over to celebrate. I don’t hunt for eggs but my niece and nephew do! In the morning we go to church and celibate. My family doesn’t play games like egg-rolling though. It’s my first time hearing of it and I hope to play it some day.
      From, Kristin

      • Dear Kristin, Thank you for the letter, I’m going to write you about my summer hblogolidays next week!

I love talking to you. I really enjoy all the details! Easter for you sounds like a lot of fun!
I saw that you left me a list of questions.
Well I am here to answer them. On Easter I go to chruch in the early morning. After Eater we go out to breakfast. We talk and eat for along time. My sister and I eat really fast so we can get back home and search for eggs. After breackfast we go ho e and look for eggs. I always find more eggs than my sister. After we count are eggs, we split them amount each other evenly. After we fill up on candy we open our Easter baskets. We get a lot of toys and then play with them. After we eat lunch and go walk the dogs. My two dogs are name Percy and Oscar. They are 2 little trouble makers. After we take them on a walk we get ready to go to my grandmas house for dinner. Once we are all dressed up and ready we drive off with our dogs and take them to my grandmas for a feast. I hope you enjoyed my Easter. I have one question. What is your favorite holiday?

    • Dear Paloma,
We are really happy to get an answer from you!

  10. Dear Savannah,

I really like the idea of this blog.
My name is Hannah Fischer Oberhofer. I am a student at the Herz- Jesu- Institut, a middle school in MĂźhlbach, a small village in South Tyrol/ Italy.
Today I want to write about Easter customs of my family and country.
The holy week begins on Palm Sunday. On Palm Sunday you tie a palm tree in my country. Every Palm Sunday who gets up last is the palm donkey.
The holidays begin on Maundy Thursday. On Maundy Thursday you dye Easter eggs. On good Friday you go the via crucis at 3.00pm. Afeterwards you go to the tomb. On Holy Saturday we go to the Holy tomb and after we go in the church. There we take the food that we eat on Easter Sunday. The parish priest blesses the food. On Easter Sunday cames the Easter bunny and hides the Easter eggs. And we, the children search the Easter eggs. But first we go to the church. Then my grandfather and grandmother arrive. The Holy week finishes with Easter Monday there comes the godmother or godfather. They gives use a present.
These were customs of Easter. I hope you understood them.
What do you do on Easter? And do you have customs of Easter? I would really like to know if Easter is the same in the USA.
Take care and write back soon.
    Hannah

    • Dear Hannah,

What I do on Easter is that since my parents are divorced I basically have two Easter’s. But not everyone does. So when I’m with my mom I go to my grandmas house. However, when I’m there my family and I BBQ. My family barbecues ribs, steak, tri-tip, and others. After we eat we have an Easter egg hunt. There’s about six money eggs, and the rest are candy eggs. A while after, we all just hang out at the house and listen to our oldies and 2018 music.

After we finish my moms Easter my dad picks my sisters and me up from the house and then we go someplace with our family or just us. Although this year my dad, my sisters, and I went to the beach with my dog. My dog is a pit bull/bull massive. She is huge. So after that my dad gives us a little gift for the holiday.

I really enjoyed what you said about Palm Sunday. It seems so fun. In South Tyrol/Italy what is the weather like? Is it hot, cold, or just right? When’s your birthday? I’m curious.

    • Dear Savannah,
First I want to answer your questions.
Now is the weather in South Tyrol not very hot but also not to cold. My birthday is on the 3.August and when´s your birthday?
Next week I want to write something about my summer-Holidays.

      Hannah

    • Dear Janika,

Hi my name is Brooke and my peen pal did not write me back so I am writing you!

What stood out to me was that you went skiing over your break. I love to ski but you normally can’t ski past April. In California we dye eggs but I have never heard of egg knocking. Is it fun?

For my beak we had Good Friday off and then the whole week after that. On Easter we had family over and played a ton of games. We had ham and creamed corn for dinner and then lemon meringue pie for desert. Over the week after Easter my mom and I went to Aspen, Colorado to visit my sister. My sister and I skied and had a lot of fun.

That is what I did for my break. I had a ton of fun!

      Sincerely, Brooke

      • Hi Brooke it was nice to hear from you,

  13. Dear Giada,

Now I`m going to tell you how we celebrate Easter. Our traditions are a little bit funny. We have holidays on Ash Wednesday.

On Good Friday I go to my grandma and we dye the eggs with colours and grass. After work we play games. In the evening we eat some oft he eggs.

On Holy Saturday I can meet my friends. Thats very nice dor me. But I can meet my friends only in the afternoon. In the morning I must help my mother in the kitchen.

And there is EASTER SUNDAY!! In the morning I go to church. At noon come the whole family visit us to eat with us. The whole family play the egg–knockinggame. I lose every time . In the afternoon I play with my sister and my cousins.

On Easter Monday I go to eat to my other cousins. There we become a cake and I become a easterbunny. Thats funny to play with my cousins.

You also go to your grandma? Can you meet your friends?

I hope you write back soon.
    Love Emily

    • Dear Emily,
Your Easter sounds really fun! I go to my grandmas on Good Friday and my grandpa comes and then we all eat and celebrate having each other. Then my sister and I play the piano for entertainment. This year though was a little different because my birthday was on God Friday. So we also celebrated my birthday. On Holy Saturday i don’t get to see my friends from school, but i get to see my cousins instead. We dye the eggs in Saturday instead of Friday, and my sister and I put glitter and write messages on the with crayons while our dog, Cookie, watches. The I help my mom with the cooking for our family. On Easter Sunday, my sister and I hunt for the eggs get candy! And then we each have one for breakfast. After that we go to church. On Easter Monday, I have to go to school. How do you play the egg nocking game? Do you get candy on Easter and what’s your favorite king to get?

    • Dear Emily,
I know I am not your pen pal. Mine hasn’t written to me at all. You Easter sounds awesome. I ride horses and I have my own. I reread the last part of your letter, and you are lucky I am writing to you because I am Giada’s Best friend. Do you have any pets? I have 32. I have chickens, bunnies, cats, dogs, fish, hermit crab, and a horse.

      Love Emma Wright.❤️

Ps. I hope you can write back to me! You sound really awesome! ❤️

  14. Dear Aidan Kantmann,
I would like to tell you about the Easter Time and the Holy Week in my family and my village.

On Maundy Thursday I dyd beautiful eggs in different colors, in the morning. In the afternoon we painted mandalas about Easter.

On Good Friday I went to the service in the afternoon.

On Holy Saturday we prepared the decoration and the food for Easter Sunday. I celebrate with my parents.

I love easter Sunday because we play the egg-knocking game. In the morning we went to search the eggs and we didn’t have to fast anymore! In the evening we went to the service because there was a very nice concert.

On Easter Monday we went tot he service. In the afternoon we played the egg-knocking game fort he last time.

I love the Holy Week and the Easter Time because every day we have a lot to do and there are nice traditions.

I hope that my letter was interesting for you. Please tell me about your Easter Time and the Holy Week because I would really like to know if the Easter Time ist he same in the USA.

    Love Chiara

    • Dear Chiara,

I loved your writing peace. It sounds so interesting in your village. For our Easter, we went to a candle light church where we would all light candles and tell God our sins and asking for him to forgive us. The whole room is dark and beautiful from the candles.

Later we went to my grandmothers house and had dinner and seached for some eggs. It was so exciting to see my family all together. It sounds that you had a lot of fun too.

It was so nice to talk to you again. Can’t wait to talk to you again!
      With love,
      Aidan

      • Dear Aidan Kantmann

Thank you for your interesting letter.
I write you next week about my holydays.

        Goodbye
        Love Chiara

  15. Dear Chloe
How are you? Today I want to tell you about my Easter holidays. Let´s begin!

The first day of my holidays was Maundy Thursday. That day I was in the church. I was also with my dog in the garden. On Good Friday I dyed my eggs. On holy Saturday I was in MĂźhlbach in the Church. That day I was also at my uncle and my aunt. On Easter Sunday I searched the eggs in the garden. I got money and Easter eggs and many other things. On Easter Monday I was in the church because I prayed for my grandmother and my grandfather.

The last day of my holidays was Thursday. On this day I was with my family in Bozen. We ate in a restaurant.

These were the most interesting things about my Easter Holidays. What about your Easter holidays? How do you celebrate Easter? Do you sometimes go to church? Do you play eggs rolling? Please write back. I´m waiting for your letter.

    Love
    Maria

    • Dear Maria.
Dying eggs on Good Friday is quite entertaining, I must say! What’s your dogs name? He/she sounds very likable! Was your church mass fun?

How was your egg hunt? Also, how much money did you get? I hope you and your family is doing okay!

My Easter isn’t very different from yours. Its all the same, except i dont go to church on Thursday, I go to church on Easter Sunday. I celebrate Easter The same as you do! I color eggs, I go to church, all the same you do. Except I don’t play rolling.
Thanks so much to writing to me!
      Love,
      Chloe M. ♡^▽^♡

      • Dear Chloe!
Thank you for your letter. I´m going to write to you next week.
I´m going to write of my holydays.
        Your letter was very intresting.
        Goodby your Maria <3

  16. Dear Nina,
I´m going to tell you about my Easter Holidays. I will also tell you about two very interesting customs. I would also like to tell you abaut Easter. Let´s begin.

The first custom I´ll tell you about is Easter Sunday. On Easter Sunday I first go to church to attend the sercice and then after this I go outside the church and there People sell Eastereggs for 50 Cent. We always go to the tomb from our relatives every year. This is very emotional.

The second custom is the egg-knocking game. For this game you need a partner and dyed eggs. Next, you hit the other egg with the backside of the egg. In the next round your partner hits with the top of your egg. The broken egg loses the game but this is not a problem because after the game you eat your egg.

Now I have some questions for you:

    What abort your Easter traditions?
    Do you play egg-knocking?
What do you do on Easter Sunday? Do your ganparents come to you on Eastersunday?
    Please write back soon.
    Love

    Leonie

    • Hi Leonie!
Yes, my family celebrates Easter. I have 2 sides of my family, so sometimes I celebrate twice. Normally, my family has a brunch (meal In between breakfast and lunch) and it is nice. My nana cooks yummy food. In America, you are not allowed to drink wine until you are 21, so I do not drink wine.

With my other side of the family, my moms side, we go to my grandmothers house and have dinner. Lots of the family from my aunt to my great grandmother comes over. The women help cook food. This year I believe we had potatoes and ham with lots of sides. We have chips and cheese for appetizers before the meal.

Then, the kids have an Easter egg hunt. The eggs have jellybeans in them, but there is a ‘special egg’ that has a dollar in it. This year, I got the dollar egg!

We do not play egg-knocking. I want to try it out, because it sounds fun! Sometimes we dye eggs.

Thank you for your response, I hope to talk again soon.
      -Nina

  17. Dear Trent,
I’ve so much fun to write you about our Easter customs. I also really hope you enjoy my blog.
My name is Alex Putzer, and I’m 12 years old. I live in South Tyrol, in a little nice village called Rodeneck. I attend the Herz-Jesu-Institut in Mühlbach, actually I really like to go to this school.

Now I’ll tell you some interesting things about our Easter customs.
A very specifice and one of my favourite customs ist he egg-knocking-game. For this game you need two persons, every person gets a hard boiled egg. Then these two persons hit their eggs together and the one with the broken egg is the looser.

We have a holy week, this week starts on palm Sunday and ends on Easter Monday. In this week we have a lot of traditions. On Ash Wednesday a minister puts Ash on our heads, on Maundy Thursday we dye eggs, on good Friday we don’t eat meat…so you can see there’s a lot to know about our customs.

An other very particular tradition is the egg hunting, our tradition says that the Easter bunny hides chocolate eggs. And we have to find them. On Easter Monday weg et presents of our god father and god mother then Easter is over.

Do you also have some great extraordinary traditions? Do you also searche eggs? Please tell me that in a letter.
    Your Alex.

    • Hello, Alex!
Wow, your traditions sound very fun. I’ll have to try the egg-knocking game sometime!
We, too, in America, hunt for eggs laid by the Easter Bunny. It’s very fun to search for the candy and coins! Who doesn’t want sweets and money?
We also have some fun traditions. My family will often visit our grandparents in Palm Springs, California which is a 7-hour drive from our house in Morgan Hill, California.
One of my favorite things to do on Easter is dye eggs. Sometimes, I’ll dunk the eggs in the colors multiple times, so they turn out as tie-dyed eggs.
The Easter tradition I most enjoy, though, is getting to see my family whom we don’t see very often. My aunt, uncle, and baby cousin came to our grandparents’ this year; it was loads of fun to finally see them again!
I hope you had a fun Easter and spring.

      Yours truly,
      Chloe

I hope you understand the tradition/ rules of the game.

At the last egg hunt I hunt five eggs.

The traditions are important for the small village beucause MĂźhlbach is old. Eastern ist the fest of the resurection Jesus. On Easter Monday my cousins and my grandma come to visit us.Then I get presents.

I hope the letter was interesting. Pleas tell me something about your Easter holidays. Write Write back soon.

    Your pen friend
    ANNA!

    • Dear Anna, all your traditions sound like so much fun, especially the egg knocking game! Some thing that I do on my Easter holidays is when I go the my great grandmothers house. We have a lot of kids in my family so she puts on a huge Easter egg hunt for everyone! Each year there are 3 golden eggs and I never find them. Usually, my brother and I leave most of the eggs for all the smaller kids so they can get more. Inside the eggs, that are plastic, there is candy and sweet treats. On Easter our family also goes to church because Easter is about celebrating Jesus. I hope you enjoyed this! I would love to hear back from you!

  19. Dear Thimoty

    • Dear Matthew, this is Jesse Marsh I’m filling in for Tim right now and I’m really interested in what you have done over easter break. The way that I celebrate easter is when my family goes to church and listens to an easter teaching. After church sometimes the church would have an egg hunt there. When we are done with church we would go home and rest, relax and eat a hardy dinner.

I really like your easter customs like the one where you throw an egg over the house for good luck. I thought that it was a very interesting custom because it is different to hear about someone playing cool games and fun customs. I hope you had a good time at easter and I hope I hear from you soon!

      Have a good day,
      Jesse Marsh

    • Dear Matthew, this is Jaden and I think your Easter customs are pretty cool! Especially the egg-knocking game! The egg throw sounds awesome! I wish I could be able to throw an egg over my small house without hitting the house behind mine.

What I do for Easter is go to church and celebrate Easter with other people. Then, I go to my grandma’s house and try to find eggs that my grandparents hid for us, and finally, I eat dinner with my family and go home.

      • Dear Jaden,
thank you for your letter. I hope that Tim is recovering soon.

Last year in the summer holidays I was on a mountain pasture and I looked at the cows.

    • Dear pen pal,
Thank you for responding to the question.
So on Good Friday I went to school and had a normal day. We didn’t do anything abnormal or different.

On Saturday, my family prepared for Easter by walking the cat around the street. (That’s what our family does because the cat is a indoor cat and it needs air before we leave it inside the rest of the weekend.) My dad prepares for the next day by practicing worship (he is a pastor).

The next day the family looked for baskets located around the house. Even the cats had one. (I have 2 cats) The cats found their baskets the fastest (they ripped up the recycling can at 2:00 in the morning) and that is why we wad to give them their basket at 3:23 in the morning. We went to church and had a small Easter egg hunt.

      • It was nice to hear from you.
Now I´m going to tell you about my summer Holidays.
I will go to my grandfather and help him. I will go to sea to schwimming. Now I´m happy about the summer holidays. I will eat a ice cream when it´s hot. I will go to fishing with Luis Überbacher and Joachim Putzer. I fish Rainbow trout. Do you go fishing?

My family celebrates Easter as well. We dye eggs and have food. I sometimes have 2 celebrations because I have 2 sides of my family. This year, we did not dye eggs, but we still had an egg hunt. I still have the same Easter basket from when I was little!

I am not sure was egg knocking is. It sounds like a very fun custom! Our Easter is made up of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We do not have Maundy Thursday. My favorite part of Easter is certainty the chocolate. It is so delicious! We have these candies called “Sees Candy” And they fill the candies with fillings such as nuts and caramel. I have a good family that comes over almost every Easter to have food and celebrate.

  26. Dear Daniella
I really like the idea of this blog. It’s fun to write to you this way.

My name is Anna Stuffer, I am a student at the Herz-Jesu-Institut, a middle school in MĂźhlbach, a small village in South Tyrol/Italy.

In this blog I am writing about Easter customs. So, let me now tell you two typical customs in my family.

A very funny game at Easter is the egg- knocking game with hard boiled eggs. I play this game with my family on Easter Monday.

My favourite custom is visiting the tomb of my grandfather. On Easter Monday I go with my mother to the monastery” Säben” and the to “Klausen”.

Another thing that I really like is getting the present from my mother and dying eggs.

These are the most interesting facts about our Easter custom. I hope you understood them if not, please get back to me and ask me! What about your Easter habits? How do you celebrate Easter?

Take care and write back soon.
    Anna

    • Dear Anna,
I am a student at MVCS in 6th grade. My Easter traditions are dying Easter eggs with my family and having a Easter egg hunt at my grandparents house. How I celebrate Easter is I hang out with my family, have brunch, have a egg hunt with fmily, and praise the lord for all he has done is our lifes. Do you like living in South Tyrol?
      Love Danielle

  27. Dear Alexa!
How are you? Today I want to tell you about my Easter holidays. Let’s begin with the traditional thing: to dye eggs. Do you color eggs too?
On Maundy Thursday I, my siblings and my mom colored eggs: We don`t do this with colors but with natural things for example Hibiscus. We color the eggs in red, blue, yellow and brown. And we also went to church.
On Good Friday we cleaned our house, that’s funny because we play that we are some persons what clean everywhere and in the afternoon we go skiing.
On Holy Saturday we went on the Plose to go skiing. In the night to Easter Sunday we went to church, that was beautiful and there everybody can take the Easter light to his house.
On Easter Sunday I woke up at seven and then I looked for my Easter eggs in the garden. Then we went to church and after we drove to our Grandparents and there we ate something very delicious and we knock eggs.
On Easter Monday we went skiing and we went to church in the afternoon.
On Tuesday I did my homework. And it was my last day of holidays.
    Do you go to church?
    Do you look for eggs?
What are your traditional things on Eastern?
    How do you celebrate Eastern?
I`m waiting for your Blog entry
    Franziska

    • Dear Alexa
I´m going to write next week a letter about my summerholidays.
I´m still waiting vor youre answer of youre Easter holidays!
      Best Wishes Franziska

  28. Hello Anna,
I love Easter, this time is very funny. My family and I dye every Easter egg with different colours on Friday. I put paint on my brother’s head. That was very funny for me. My Mom was not enthusiastic about it.

On Easter Sunday I got an Easter bunny and sweets. In the morning I went with my family to church. On Easter Sunday my family and I went egg-hunting. My godmother cooked a delicious meal.

On Easter Monday I went skiing with my family and then we had lunch. My godmother and my godfather went to lake Garda.

    I had nice holidays.
Did you also have nice holidays?

    Yours Sophia

    • Dear Sofia,

Hi! Yes, my family celebrates Easter. It is a fun time of food, candy, and celebration. In my country, you cannot drink wine until you are 21 years old, so I do not drink wine. My grandma cooks yummy food and we have a Easter egg hunt. This year, we did not dye eggs. The eggs are normally filled with jellybeans, but there is one egg with one dollar in it, that is hidden well. I got that egg this year. Last year, my birthday was on Easter, since the day of Easter depends on the moon. At my dads house, we have a brunch (meal in between breakfast and lunch) and my other grandma cooks food.

I do not play the egg knocking game. I should research it and play it! It’s super cool that you like to ski! I do too! I personally do not go to church, but lots of others do. I have very nice holidays such as Christmas and Presidents’ Day, where we celebrate our first leader.

Have you ever been out of Italy? I have been to Australia. Some of my family is from there. It is very beautiful. My mom has been to Umbria in Italy and she says it is amazing.

What type of music do you like? I love pop, electronic, and dance. I’m curious as to what type of music Italy has.

Thank you for talking! I hope you reply.

      -Nina

  29. Dear Thimoty

In this letter I`m going to tell you about my favourite Easter customs.

My name is Jakob Auer. I am a student at the Herz- Jesu- Institute, middle school in Mühlbach. Mühlbach is a nice village between Schabs and Vintl, but I don`t live in Mühlbach, I live in Natz next to a nice lake, which is called “Flötscher Weiher”.

So let`s start now with my favourite Easter customs in our village. The first Easter custom is my favourite custom; it is the egg- knocking game. The egg- knocking game is a very funny game, this game is played every year after the service on Easter Sunday. In this game you egg which is damaged first has lost.

Another custom and one of the most common customs is the Easter egg hunt. The parents of the kids hide the eggs in the garden, and the kids have to search the eggs of the Easter Bunny.
On Easter Monday the kids get presents from the godfather, this day is a nice day because we receive presents and we can have a nice day with our godfathers.

This are my favourite Easter customs.

    LOVE

I like this new way of writing to you! Back to the subject at hand though. Believe it or not I’ve never played egg knock! It sounds fun though. In the morning my family gets up and goes to church after church we finish decorating for Easter. Later on my whole family comes. I myself don’t do egg hunts anymore but, my niece and nephew do! It’s nice watching them run around looking for eggs and candy. That’s all I usually do on Easter it’s nice to hear what yours is.
      From, Kristin

  31. Dear Erica,

My name is Michaela Dorfmann. I am in class 2A of the middle school „Herz- Jesu- Institut“ in Mühlbach. Today I will tell you how we celebrate Easter in Mühlbach. We have a lot of nice traditions but let me now tell you about two typical customs in our country.

The first tradition is dying Eastereggs. In the Eastertime we dye the eggs with colors like green, blue, yellow… and with templates. The easter bunny brings these colorful and yummy eggs. He hide the eggs and after the people can search them.

Another tradition is the egg- knocking game. In German it´s „häcken“. Egg- knocking is a game with two people. Everyone needs one egg. You beat egg to egg and the winner is whose egg is not broken. This game is like an endurance test for the egg. After this game you can eat the egg.

Easter is the festival of the resurrection of Jesus! He was innocently crucified and on Easter Sunday he rose. This is a happy day and after the service there is a big party with music, Easter bread…

They are my favorite Easter customs. What about your Easter habits?

    Please write back soon

    MICHAELA

    • Dear Michaela, all your traditions sound like so much fun, especially the egg knocking game!

      • Dear Erica,
Today I and Anna we are writing to getter this letter, because we are best frindes from the class and we make often Things to getter.

Your easter traditions are very cool and interesting. We love easter eggs. Yummy ( At the last egg-knocking game wins Anna) ; )

This are some verds in german:

        hello = hallo
        yes = ja
        no = nein
        good morning = guten morgen
        horse = Pferd
        Pennfriend = Brieffreund

We hope that you day we can meet you. Who your best friend? How you fell? Do you like writing with us?

        Write back soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Love

        Michaela (Mich) and Anna (Äschli)

  32. Pen Pal Letter

    Dear Aidan,
I liked to hear something from you.
I’m Hellen Rovara, a student at the Herz-Jesu-Institute, a middle school in Mühlbach, this is a small village in South Tyrol.
One of the most common customs is the egg hunt. In this game the Easter bunny hides the eggs and the children must search the colored eggs.
Anotherone is the egg-knocking game. This game is a little bit complicated, but when you do it often it’s really simple. First you need a partner. Everybody takes an egg. One holds the top of the egg upwards and one downwards. The one who holds the top of the egg knocks with his egg on the otherone. And who gets a hole in his egg is the loser. Then you do it with the blunt side.
A thing that I love is, to get to my grandparents. I like this because there I can play with my cousins.
And my grandparents prepare every time delicious food for example: easter bread.
These are the most interesting Easter customs. I hope you liked it and I hope you write back.
    Greetings
    Hellen

    • Dear Hellen,

Your Easter sounds so fun! I as well had a Easter egg hunt. We also went to a candle light church. We would all light our candles and turn off all the lights. We would tell God our sins and ask him to forgive us. It was a very beautiful moment.

I enjoyed going to my grandparents house as well. We also had delightful food and being together as a family. I also had fun with my cousins. I haven’t seen them is so long. It sounds like you had a very fun Easter. I hope we talk to each other again.

      With love,
      Aidan

  33. Dera Arabella,
I really like the idea of this blog. I would like to tell you about my Easter holidays.

On Maundy Thursday my holidays started. On this day in the morning I dyed the Easter eggs in many different colours.

On Good Friday I met my friends in the town and at 6 o’clock I went to the service in the cathedral.

The next day on the 31st March I played the egg-knocking game with my family, that was so funny. Then I prepared the meals for the next day.

On Easter Sunday in the first place I went to the search the Easter eggs. I found many delicious Easter eggs and a big chocolate bunny. Next, we brought the meals in the church and let them bless. In the afternoon we put a candele on the table and prayed.

The last day in the morning I went to the service and after the service we played again the egg-knocking game.

I hope that my letter was interesting for you. Please tell me about your Easter holidays. I would like to know if the Easter Time is the same in the USA.

    Love Sophia

    • Dear Sophia,
The way you celebrate Easter sounds super fun!

So, the way my Easter started was really early in the morning. We woke up and had a great breakfast. It was pancakes with nice warm syrup. After that, we got to go to church with my cousins. Then, we left church at eleven and headed to Disneyland. Disneyland is one of the most popular main attractions or theme parks in California. They have many fun rolarcoasters and waterslides in the park. So, once we got there we went straight to our hotel room to unpack and rest for a little while.
Then we went out to eat and go swim. After we swam we went back to the hotel room and went to sleep for the night. That was my Easter. It’s interesting how you played the egg knocking game twice in one day that sounded super fun! I wonder if our game in the U. S. A. is the same your game in Italy. Our game is called Easter egg hunting. Our parents hide the eggs with candy in them, then us kids get to go find them. It was fun talking to you!

      Love,
      Arabella

      • Dear Arabella,
Thank you very much for the letter, I’m going to write you something about my summer holidays next week!
        Love
        Sophia

  34. Dear Giada,
I’m a student of the Herz-Jesu Institut in Mühlbach. And I live in Schabs, South Tyrol. Now I want to tell you about my Easter customs and traditions.

The first custom that I want to talk about is on Maundy Thursday. Every Year on that day we dye the eggs with flowers and onion skins. And in the evening I went to church.

On Good Friday afternoon I went to church and sang in the choir. There the priest took the cross with Jesus and carried it through the church.

On the third day I met friends in the afternoon. And we did very crazy things. We played a sketch and watched a film. In the evening was a service but I didn’t go there.

Then on Easter Sunday I went to church in the morning. There the priest blessed the food for example eggs, Easter bread, bacon, ham, cheese and so on. Before lunch we serched the baskets with candies and money. At the lunch we ate the blessed food.

On Easter Monday I slept long and again we had blessed food for lunch.

I hope that you write back and write about your Easter holidays.
    Your Katharina

    • Dear Katharina,
Your Easter sounds really fun! What’s your favorite king of candy to get?

  35. Dear Arabella
I like the idea of this blog
I will tell about my Easter customs.
My favorite Easter customs is the egg hunt. It’s very funny we also play another game at Easter it is he egg knocking. It’s a game who tow people have an egg and they hit them together. Than is the old tradition of the Easterbunny, it’s a bunny and he brings eggs and presents to all kids in South Tyrol. At Easter we eat Easterbread. On Easter Sunday we go to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christi. On every Easter Monday come my godfather is also a custom of my country. The Godfather is a person and on every Ester Monday the Godfather gives you a present.
These are the most important facts about Easter customs. I hope you understand them. If not, get back to ask me. Take care and write back soon.

        Love Valentina

  38. Dear Paloma,

Today I’ll write you about the funny customs in our country and my home.
I live in Vals, this is a little village in South Tyrol.

On Palm Sunday we go with a beautiful palmbranch to the church and celebrate the service. Who hast he most beautiful palmbranch?
In the Easter time we also play the Egg- knocking game. You need: two persons and two eggs. You knock the eggs together and if the egg breaks first you have lost the game.

On Maundy Thursday we dye the eggs and later we eat them with Easter bread.
This year first we woke up then brought the Easter bunny little presents, chocolate eggs/ bunnies in a little chest. On Easter Saturday in our family we build chests or holes for the Easter bunny.

After the surprise I go to church on Easter Sunday morning. We celebrate the rise of Jesus. Then we have a big brunch with the whole family.

On Easter Monday we play Egg hunting (Or on Easter Sunday). Here we search the Eggs from the bunny in the garden.

I hope you like the customs. How do you celebrate Easter?
I hope you write back soon!
    Love
    Annika ; – )

    • Dear Annika,
I love talking to you.
Oh and one interesting fact about me is that I am Italian.

  39. My Easter Holidays

    How do you celebrate Easter?
Take care and write back soon,
    Florian Fischnaller

    • Dear Pen Pal,
That was a very fascinating Easter you had. My Easter is very similar to yours, I color eggs for the kids to find, I go to church every Easter with my family. But this Easter I went to Sacramento to see my cousins, we went to church with them. Your English has improved a lot, you are doing great.

      Your Penpal

    • Great job on your blogFlorian. I thought it was so cool that you can do egg nocking. I wish my area did that. Also, I really was fascinated that you were able to go skiing. Spring in my area doesn’t have snow. For Easter in my area my family and I watched a movie and went to church. Also, this year my Easter eggs had money inside them. I thought that was really cool. You know how you won eggnocking, well I won the Easter egg hunt. Anyway I celebrate Easter by Doing something fun and a Easter egg hunt. It was nice talking to you. Bye!

      From,
      Benjamin B. ^~^

    • Wow! Your Easter customs sound amazing! Congratulations on beating you sister!😂 It sounds like you got some cool gifts! I love chocolate! Hope you had fun skiing! On Easter morning my family gets gifts in a basket and have Easter egg hunts in our house! After we collect the eggs and get our baskets we go to church and celebrate Jesus and how he resurrected.
Hope you had a fantastic Easter!
      – Isabella DeBernardo

    • Dear Florian
My Name Is Ayden Kusumoto. I find that your easter holiday was very unique because all the stuff you said you did sounds much more interesting than what I did during easter break. All I did was lie around and be lazy. The only entertaining thing I did was go to church. You had a much better Easter than me.
      Ayden Kusumoto

    • Dear Florian,
Hello! I’m Annabelle, and even if I’m not your true pen pal I would love to share my Easter experience too!
To begin with, my family here in California celebrated Easter by starting off with heading to our church. After and hour or so church was concluded, we went to our favorite breakfast restaurant called Black Bear Diner; I suggest ordering the Mini Volcano if your own family decides to visit California and eat at a local diner here. Once we had our fill of food, we then went to join in a Easter Celebration Party. We all had a magnificent time from playing a games from an Easter Egg Hunt and painting eggs to liking. Soon the day was done and we all got ready for our bedtime.
Now I have some questions for you too!
Do you do Easter egg hunts over in you area? What other holidays do you celebrate other than Easter?
It was a pleasure to write to you!
      Yours truly,
      Annabelle

    • Dear Florian Fischnaller
I read your letter and I want to tell you about my summer.
In the summer I’m going to go to my neighbour and help him with the goats to milk them.

Take care and write back please,
      Florian

  40. Dear Avery
We had last week Easter holidays. On Easter Sunday people play many games.

Our parents hide the Easter presents and we look for the presents. The parents tell then little children about the Easter Rabbit. The Easter Rabbit hides egges and presents in the grass in the our garden or in our house. The older children know the Easter Rabbit is not in the rality.
A traditional, beautiful game is Easter Egg-knocking. Easter Egg-knocking is a game, there raise the Egg on the beginn or on the End from the Egg. Then hit the egg on the other egg , then turn the egg and hit it again. When the egg doesn´t break you win.

Every year my family drive to the gandmother and the grandfather. There we play cards or hide and seek. For us this is a tradition.

Bevore Easter we dye the eggs with water colors, crepe paper, flowers or other plants.

This it hat we do on Easter. Wht do you do on Easter? Do you also dye the eggs? How do you celebrate Easter? Do you also have traditions in California? Do you have games for Easter or other things?

    Love

    Sarah

    • Sarah,
Thankyou for replying that is so cool! I think it’s cool that you do the egg knocking game. Yes we die eggs! On Easter we usually have a big meal to eat! We also go searching for the eggs too! We do have the Easter bunny but older kids do not believe it either. In California those are our traditions. We don’t usually do games but the o,dear kids set up the Easter egg hunt for the little kids. I think it’s cool you play hide and seek every year! We usually play those games just for fun some days!

    • Dear Leonie Chizzali,

What stood out to me the most is you have Easter on Monday. Why I found that interesting is because we have Easter on Sunday.

On Good Friday, at Monte Vista Christian School we get the day off to celebrate that Jesus diced on the cross for us. We usually don’t go to mass on Saturday but we go on Sunday.

Also the week of Easter we color eggs with my neighbors. We usually use food dire to color them.

My family has a lot of Easter comstums. One of our family customs is opening a Easter basket full of goodies from the Easter bunny. After we usually go to Easter Sunday mass, the service at my church. After we would go back to my house and have a big lunch/Dinner, with my whole family. My family always doesn’t the traditional Easter egg hunt. We have a golden egg with a prize in it. Do you have a golden egg? After we usually open all of the Easter eggs an see what is inside them.

I really enjoiyed reading your blog!
Do you get first Friday off?
Do you have a golden egg?

      Sincerely,

    • Hello Emely,

My name is Kyra and I am one of Aidan’s friends. I am replying to you because Aidan has three penpals. Your Easter customs seem very fun. For Easter, my family usually goes to Mexico to visit my grandparents. On Easter Sunday, my family usually goes to a little church on the top of the hill. The mass is in Spanish, but is a really cool experience. That night, we go into the city and celebrate a party in the plaza. My family usually eats dinner at a nearby restaurant. After dinner is over, we go celebrate in the plaza. During the celebration, there is fireworks, and candle lighting. Overall it is a very fun experience.

  43. Easter Time
    Dear Joushua,
I’m Fabian Purer and I’m a student at the Herz- Jesu Institut in Mühlbach. Mühlbach is a small village in South Tyrol.

I will tell you about Easter customs.

One of the most customs is the Easter Egg hunt where we search or bunnies. The Easter bunny hide this Eggs.

The second custom is the egg knocking game. First you need a partner. Every person takes an egg. One person holds the egg and the other one hits with the egg on the other egg.

Another custom is blessing food in the church in our baskets there are bacon and eggs.

These are three typical customs at Easter habits.

    Your Fabian Purer

    • I like that you search for the Easter eggs. For my Easter, I spend time with family. We traveled and watch a movie. That is how I celebrate my easter.

      Dear, Joshua

  44. Easterdays
    Dear Joshua,
I will tell you about my Eastertime.
I´m Alexander Pfattner and I´m a student at the Herz-Jesu-Institut in Mßhlbach.
MĂźhlbach is a small village in South Tyrol.
In South Tyrol there are many traditions , also in the Eastertime. For example the egg hunting there the kids search the eggs from the Easter bunny.
The kids look for chocolate bunnies and chocolate eggs.

Another game is the egg knocking –game.
This game is complicated to explain.
First you need a friend you and him take a egg .
One holds the top of the egg upwards and the other downwards:
The other person knocks his egg on the other egg.
The player who has a hole in his egg is the loser.

On Easter Sunday I like to go to church and visit my grandparents. There are also my cousins .
I can play with them and my family is happy.

This is the Eastertime in South Tyrol.
    Your Alexander.

    • Dear Alexander,
Although I am not your Pen Pal, Joshua has asked me to reply for him.

    From Timothy

  46. Dear pen Pal i think it is really fascinating on how you do your Easter. This is how my Easter goes so on Easter we normally go to church. And then we have a service about that time in Easter. And then we see a play about how Jesus rose and then we go to my grandmas house and then we go swimming and talk about the resurrection.
